Bridge Replacement Design

Under this federal aid project, Lu Engineers designed the replacement of three bridges as part of the Rte 365 and Rte 69 interchange. Each bridge had the same proposed bridge section and similar span lengths. As part of the preliminary design, Lu Engineers investigated the feasibility of utilizing the same superstructure for each bridge. This greatly reduced the final design effort and the total number of drawings that were required. Standardization of the details also lead to less confusion during construction.
