Traffic Sign Inventory & Evaluation

Lu Engineers provided professional engineering services for the Wayne County Highway Department. All traffic signs (6,500 total) located on the 405 centerline miles of County highways were evaluated and inventoried. The evaluation included determining the need for additional signage based on existing roadway conditions and if the existing signage is in compliance with New York State's Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices. An inventory database was created to allow the County to more efficiently manage their sign infrastructure. The database is compatible with GIS software to allow the database to be shared with other County GIS information.
