Lu Engineers provided environmental and petro-chemical bulk storage engineering assistance for the client's major oil storage facility. Lu Engineers assisted with review of existing site compliance data, updating of environmental planning documents, design feasibility engineering assistance relating to facility upgrades, liaison with NYSDEC and review of submissions by facility legal counsel. Project requirements included development of an updated, scalable site plan to allow re-design of certain elements of the site’s layout. This process included the redesign of the facility secondary containment, addressing a number of compliance issues, and developing SPCC plan. All of this was done under a compressed time line due to NYSDEC demands and short compliance requirements. The facility’s largest tank also needed to be reconfigured to meet NYC watershed requirements.
