Lu Engineers was contracted to perform a remedial investigation and provide turn-key remedial services on this NYSDEC Brownfield project. The site was formerly used as a wastewater treatment plant by the Town of Henrietta as well as an operations, maintenance, storage and disposal area for its Highway Department.
Surface and subsurface soils and groundwater was evaluated to determine the nature and extent of site contamination. Underground storage tanks were removed and remediation was conducted to eliminate the minimal site contamination identified.
The site has been returned to commercial use and represents a clear success story under the NYSDEC Brownfield / Voluntary Cleanup Program.
