The Hall of Justice building is a multi-story concrete block building located above a below grade multi-level parking garage. Monroe County has been renovating areas of this building for many years. Lu Engineers has been involved in the initial substantial renovation project which added a large atrium area for people to be able to wait to get through security rather than wait outdoors in the elements. Other phases of the project have created new courtrooms and office space.
Services performed on this project included asbestos assessments, lead paint assessments, hazardous material surveys, collection of building materials, record drawing review, development of plans, specifications and construction cost estimates, development of specific variances, construction administration, and project monitoring and air sampling. Lu Engineers also presented informational seminars and produced handouts for the building’s occupants.
