Construction Inspection

Lu Engineers provided the Chief Inspector/Office Engineer in charge of overseeing all field inspection for the construction of a two-level arrivals/departures roadway along the front of the new terminal, associated access roads, all new site utilities, new concrete aprons and asphalt taxiways (FAA P401 & P501 Specs), and airfield lighting, signage and striping. The construction cost for this proejct was $21 million. Coordination between five separate on-going contracts, along with daily coordination with individual airlines, was a major activity.

Lu Engineers calculated and tracked all quantities, certifications, and monthly pay estimates. Under the D4 contract, primary responsibilities included all site/civil inspection for the new terminal construction which encompassed structural excavations, concrete and bar reinforcement, site utilities, and the recycling of all site concrete from apron and building demolitions.
