Wastewater Collection & Treatment
Lu Engineers provides engineering services for the planning and design of collection, distribution, pumping and treatment facilities, as well as innovative technologies for treatment. Our involvement with wastewater collection and treatment has grown with the demand for new, more efficient, and more economical methods of processing wastewater. The scope of our services has ranged from the design of entire wastewater pumping stations to the design of telemetry and control functions for complex wastewater plants.
Lu Engineers provides complete services for new treatment plants, the expansion or rehabilitation of existing plants, re-ratings to increase capacity with minimal construction costs, projects to meet increased water quality requirements, and sludge management projects, including dewatering and storage facilities. We have designed treatment systems that use a wide array of treatment processes, including activated sludge systems, oxidation ditch and aerated lagoon facilities, and advanced treatment systems. Our bio-solids experience includes the design of anaerobic and aerobic digesters, digester gas recovery systems, solids thickening and dewatering systems, and bio-solids reuse/disposal plans.
Lu Engineers has also designed pump stations, force mains and sewers (lateral, trunk and interceptor) for municipal wastewater systems throughout New York. Our experience includes infiltration/inflow analyses, sewer system evaluations and combined sewer overflow studies. These evaluations have been used as the basis for rehabilitating aging systems to maximize their efficiency.
