Wetland Services

Our civil engineering and water resources staff includes hydrologists, engineers, surveyors, natural resource scientists, and soil scientists to provide you with efficient delineation, design, creation and hydrologic modeling, and construction monitoring of wetland sites. Our certified staff is trained in using the NE/NC Regional Supplement to the 1987 Federal Wetland Delineation Manual and other state and federal documents for delineating federally regulated wetlands. We also have broad expertise in preparing permit applications that incorporate a wetland delineation report, impact analysis, and mitigation design.

Habitat Assessment & Water Quality

Lu Engineers provides development specific hydrologic and biologic expertise in evaluating the significance of physical habitat modification and developing effective ecosystem restoration. We also provide comprehensive planning, permitting, engineering and construction administration services for habitat restoration. Our staff of biologists, geologists, hydrologists, wetland specialists and civil engineers are also trained and experienced with a range of habitat and stream restoration projects.

Threatened & Endangered Species

Lu Engineers conducts endangered and threatened species surveys according to agency and scientific protocols. We are familiar with consultation procedures under the Federal Endangered Species Act. We are able to use current Geographic Information System (GIS) data sources as an aid in determining known and likely habitat for species of interest. Lu Engineers develops habitat restoration and management plans which may include relocation or preservation measures. Permitting and coordinating through applicable agencies is also sought as appropriate.
