Lu Engineers to Begin Ogilvie Brownfield Cleanup Project
October 26, 2011 - News
Lu Engineers has been awarded the Ogilvie Site Cleanup Project in Watertown, NY through the EPA Brownfields Cleanup Program. Lu Engineers and the City of Watertown will work together to remediate the former Ogilvie Site, which was historically used to produce dairy-related products until it was abandoned in the late 1990’s.
The City had the forethought to purchase the property in 2009 anticipating a housing shortage due to an increase of soldiers positioned at Fort Drum. The City plans to work with the Neighbors of Watertown to develop the property suitable for single-family homes. Lu Engineers will work closely with the City to find ways to stretch the tax payer’s dollar and make the site shovel-ready for development.
Our environmental professionals are experts in Brownfield Investigation, Cleanup, and Redevelopment. Over the last three years we have successfully worked to obtain certificates of completion on numerous Brownfield Projects.
Lu Engineers was selected on a qualifications based proposal process for this project. Over ten professional engineering consultants submitted proposals.
