Engineers surveyed, designed and inspected the installation of 63,400
feet (12 miles) of 8", 12" and 16" diameter ductile-iron pipe water main
along state, county and town roads in the town of South Chili, New York.
The project included highway, stream, wetland, large gas pipeline and
railroad crossings. Borings with casing pipe were used to cross State
Highways and the Rochester & Southern Railroad.
The key to receiving the Project of the Year Award
was that this large project was constructed on time, within budget and
with a minimum of problems. This was accomplished in part by the fact
that regulatory agencies and major utility
companies were made part of the design and review process from the
project inception.
Lu Engineers prepared the Map, Plan and Report for the Benefit Area
Formation, the Type I Environmental Assessment Form, the Agricultural
Notices of Intent, and the Water Supply Permit Application. We also
prepared permit applications for construction such as wetland permits,
water quality certification, highway work permits, stream crossing
permits and the railroad crossing agreement. |
