| The presence of asbestos
in a building is an extremely important aspect of facilities management.
Asbestos fibers can be released from many types of building materials
during the demolition or renovation of an existing building. The
inhalation of asbestos fibers can cause serious health problems, possibly
even lung disease and cancer. Lu Engineers can help to ensure the safety of the building's occupants
during construction through our asbestos services. Prior to construction,
our certified staff conducts thorough inspections and material testing to
locate all possible sources of asbestos in the affected area. Once the
asbestos containing materials have been located and quantified, Lu
Engineers will prepare detailed design plans and specifications for the
abatement of the asbestos. During construction, our certified staff will
inspect the asbestos removal process, monitor the air quality and strive
to ensure that every measure is taken to maintain the well-being of the
building occupants.
